New(ish) entree! I don't make this one often, so don't miss out! This is probably my all-time favorite Latin comfort food....full of so many vibrant flavors! It takes me right back to my years I lived in Miami. Slow-simmered organic angus ground beef with Latin spices, herbs, tomatoes, green olives, black olives (not traditional, as it's usually just green olives, but it's how my kiddos love it and it adds a little extra sweetness and color!), and golden raisins (I mince them , for those of us who don't love the texture of large raisins...especially my kids!...they are key component of this dish, but the way I add them, you wouldn't even know they were in there!) for that perfect balance of sweetness and briny tartness...the perfect combo. Served with jasmine rice, roasted carrots and parsnips, fried sweet plantains (platano maduro...my favorite!), a side of my creamy citrus sunflower seed slaw to top it perfectly, as well as a side of my homemade Caribbean hot pepper sauce (for those that enjoy that fab amount of heat...I know I sure do!). Gluten-free. Dairy free.
